Safeguarding Legislation for Counsellors

Essential Knowledge for Ethical & Safe Practice
With Katy Parsons | Full-Day CPD Workshop

Safeguarding is a core professional responsibility—and yet many counsellors feel uncertain about what the law really requires of them. This in-depth, practical workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to make ethical, informed safeguarding decisions, whether you work with adults, young people, or both.

Ideal for both qualified and trainee counsellors, as well as supervisors, this session explores your legal duties, your role in multi-agency processes, and how to work safely with risk while protecting your clients—and yourself.

You’ll explore:
✅ Key safeguarding legislation for children, adults, and vulnerable groups
✅ Your legal and ethical role as a counsellor in safeguarding procedures
✅ PREVENT awareness and your responsibilities under current guidance
✅ What happens after you report a concern—can you escalate or follow up?
✅ How to apply safeguarding knowledge to real client work

This is more than just theory—you’ll leave with greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger ethical foundation.
